What is La Dolce Vita?

For us, it’s relaxing after a ride in the Dolomites sipping a glass of Pinot Nero under the discreet and friendly service of Hugo Pizzinini at Rosa Alpina; it’s indulging in the hills of Langhe over a portion of fresh-made tajarin chatting with Flavio, our truffle-hunter friend from Alba; it’s celebrating with Marco Saligari his war stories with Miguel Indurain and Lance Armstrong while cycling on the shores of Lake Como.

It’s taking a refreshing bath in the sea of Portofino after riding in the Ligurian hills; it’s contemplating the sunset over the Dolomite of Fanes savoring Ladinian ravioli made by Signora Maria at Maso Runch; it’s listening to Paolo Savoldelli about that day when he did not wear the pink jersey at the Giro in respect of the late Marco Pantani whilst eating bistecca alla fiorentina at Dario Cecchini’s osteria in Tuscany…

Italy has centuries of excellence in authentic, regional cuisine and hospitality, often known only by the locals. Every village has its steeple, its own variety of wine, cheese, pasta, bread, and its routes and cycling tales. We know them all like no one else does for one very simple reason: we were born and we grew up here.

What is your definition of La Dolce Vita? Please, share it with us. We will patiently sew around it and you will be surprised to discover that an enduring passion can be Dolce, pardon!, sweet…
